Ravenswood - RAWednesday June 9, 7-9 PM

June RAWednesday will be an artist salon at Images Gallery located at 1823 West Wilson Avenue from 7 to 9 p.m. All artists are welcome to submit up to five JPEGS of their work for an informal critique. Please send your images to laura60613@yahoo.com

Images Gallery is a group of artists that meet to discuss, critique, and support the process of making art. Their storefront exhibition space is continually refreshed with rotating exhibitions and events. To learn more about Images Gallery and see upcoming shows, visit them online at images8.com.

Refreshments for the salon will be donated by City Provisions, a new deli located at 1818 Wilson Avenue.

And be sure to drop by Ann Ponce Studio & Gallery at 1819 Wilson to see some of our RAW artists on display.

RAWednesdays are FREE and open to the public to develop a network for artists and businesses located in the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor. Refreshments will be served. We recommend a $5.00 suggested donation at the door to cover our expenses. Our goal is to bring people together to foster dialogs, exchange information, and to create a greater sense of community. Most importantly, the goal is to inform the general public of the unique diversity of the arts and industry that exists in Ravenswood.

If your business or studio would like to sponsor an upcoming RAWednesday event, please contact Bill Moran at moranstudios@hotmail.com.

The Painterly Print- Digital Grounds for Painters, Photographers and mixed media-Deerpath Art League
Date: June 11th and 12th, 11:30-4:30

Painters and non-painters can take creative advantage of new grounds that allow artists to combine print and paint in luminous layers. This class will alleviate fears about new printing techniques and open up a world of acrylic skins—actual layers of acrylic paint that can be printed on directly from an inkjet printer. Students will work into these images to transform them, seal them and then create unique mixed media paintings. Also available are a large variety of acrylic paints, gels, and mediums to glaze, draw, overpaint, collage and pour over the digital images. All levels are welcome. No additional supplies required, just bring your creative and open mind. This workshop is perfect for photographers, and digital artists, who are interested in opening up possibilities for the print on unique surfaces. Mixed Media artists will find new ideas to expand their current work and painters will find cool ideas for manipulating digital versions of their paintings. Come with a sense of adventure, and be open to new ideas, not finished work! This would be an ideal chance to learn how to create limited edition multiples for art fairs. Details:
